Pengaruh Bioetanol Terhadap Konsumsi Bahan Bakar Dan Emisi Gas Buang Pada Motor Suzuki Shogun 125 CC


Abstract

The octane value of motor vehicle fuel has a very big influence on the combustion process in the cylinder space. Apart from that, the speed of the combustion reaction is also determined by the octane value of the fuel. One of the factors that influences the performance of motorized vehicles is the quality of the fuel used. Bioethanol is a fuel derived from organic materials which is processed into a renewable additive that is cost effective and environmentally friendly. The function of bioethanol is to increase the octane content of fuel to increase fuel efficiency, apart from that, it is also an oxygenating agent, containing O2 which can help maximize combustion and reduce air pollution. This research aims to find out the effect of bioethanol on fuel consumption and exhaust emissions on the Suzuki Shogun 125 CC motorbike. This research uses the experimental method, namely by testing the effect of an experiment by comparing a new experiment with a control or comparison treatment. The experiment was the effect of Bioethanol with Pertalite on fuel consumption and exhaust emissions on a Suzuki Shogun 125 CC motorbike which was measured using a burret and gas analyser. After carrying out research, data on fuel consumption for the E0 fuel mixture had a consumption result of 3.7666 ml/minute and the E2% mixture had a consumption result of 2.9333 ml/minute, experiencing a decrease in fuel consumption of 0.8333 ml/minute. The decrease in CO content which was originally in the E0 mixture was 6.08%, becoming the lowest CO among the other mixtures in the E2% mixture with a CO content of 5.60% which experienced a decrease of 0.48%, and in the HC content of the E0 mixture with a value of 387ppm became lower in the E2% fuel mixture with a content of 344ppm, decreasing by 43 ppm.
